Pilot Test Projects For a Real Virtual Reality Parallel World By Lance Winslow

In the future virtual reality may be so close to actual life that one will not be able to tell the difference once immersed in the VR world of their choosing. So, before we introduce such a system to the human populations, shouldn't we test this Black Swan change before we start selling or offering it to the public as a Living Room VR Video Game type system?

After all, how can we know how humans will react to all of this? Think of it this way, those who partake in the virtual reality system, will be living in a dream like state, only much more real. And we know that dreams do affect human psychology. So, can we guesstimate how things might play out in such a future?

Well, I would also say that someone immersed in both the current online world and current actual communities could very much guess with a good degree of accuracy what would happen, what the participants would desire and what the humans involved would desire.

Also if one steps back from the current online, or actual world, they might be able to predict how much conflict, sound and fury, chaos and controversy or conjured up adversity and competition would need to be in place to provide them with adequate levels of challenge.

This is needed to insure that their biosystem works adequately with the right amount of chemicals running through their bodies and then rest time to contemplate, reflect, and learn. Thus, developing wisdom to go along with the knowledge gained and allow them to put it into to practice. Because that appears to be what humans are good at, that AI isn't quite good at yet.

From there we could design even better AI thinking machines that could simulate even better companions, thus making the VR system even better, more accepted and desired over the real world. Speaking of which, I have some thoughts on that too, along with some inherent dilemmas that this could in fact create, which might also need to be solved in advance of setting up the system. Think on this.

Human Behavior Issues in a Future Virtual Reality World By Lance Winslow

Let's say that in the future Virtual Reality becomes so real that it is a secondary option for folks for entertainment or even a vacation. In such a Virtual Reality system, you could be anything that you wish to be, do anything you want to do, and have no "real" social society norms to deal with. In this case would that mean you would break tradition with your ethical values?

Some modern day psychologists have been asking this question. And since the future of VR would include social networks of people sharing the system with each other, would this mean that crime, rioting and bad or unethical behavior might run ramped; and if it did then what?

The reality that a VR environment is not real and therefore there are no "real consequences" to evil behavior, this might spur on some to think that it is okay to act out. And it would be a reflection of the actual thoughts of humans playing out in the VR environment.

Would this have complications on the real world and over all society in our current life experiences as flesh and blood? What do I mean, am I suggesting that like the current human internet that, such a collective communication system that we find in online social networks have implications that are quite different and therefore serious to all those that participate.

Thus, it does affect the overall attitude of humans in general and their behavior and feelings towards others in either of the two worlds; online or actual community. The implications of future robust artificial intelligence running super computer Virtual Reality environments changing the way humans live forever, may be a realism that many may not wish to talk about. Think on this.

The Theory of Divine Predestined Multiplicity By Mike Ellis

There has been a question in the minds of people since religions and religious philosophies have existed, namely the question of predestination. How can it be that mankind has free will if there is predestination? How can there be destiny if there is not predestination? How can there be fate if we have free will? How can God know everything if we haven't yet made all of our choices? Is it just that God knows which choices we will make before we make them and that we actually have one limited path we will follow? If so, is that really free will? I think not, and so do others. Then how can God know everything? All of these questions assume the premise that there is a "Creative Source" that I will refer to as God. If you remove the shackles of specific religions and their particular schemas and doctrines, you still have the fact that belief in one God or another is and always has been a universal concept of mankind, from the earliest recorded history, regardless of his name(s) and regardless of the times. The premise of this theory is one that considers all religions and faiths and is in conflict with none of them, given the allowance of an open mind, unrestricted by specific religious beliefs.

Whether or not God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh, or whether or not God is a seven-headed six-armed multiple god figure, the questions posed above still apply and have applied to mankind's curiosity for eons. It seems an insurmountable task to not separate free will and predestination and it seems impossible to have the two coexist.

If God is all-powerful and all knowing, as most religions and most people believe, then He must know everything. Is it, then, possible for us to have free will? Or do we just think we have free will and it's all just a joke on us? If every choice we make is already known, then we are just pawns in the game of existence, thinking we have freedom to choose, when in actuality, we are only making the choice that has been predestined for us to make, for God already knows our choice and may even be guiding or controlling those choices, thus no freedom of choice at all.

It is my intention to propose that through the study of modern science, we have unlocked the key to the question of free will, be it already known by the Creator. I propose that we do indeed have free will at every moment of our existence, or existences. Modern mathematical equations have mathematically proven a theory which some call the "Theory of Everything." Until recently, there were calculations for the workings of the macrocosm, space, planets, stars, galaxies, and other large bodies, involving gravity and relativity, in which there is an ordered universe, governed by mathematical laws that seemingly conclusively can predict how things in our universe interact. However, these laws and equations broke down and did not work when examining the microcosm of our universe, the infinitely small particles such as quarks and other sub-atomic structures.

In the development of String Theory, the theory that all matter is made up of tiny strands of vibrating energy, several sets of equations have been developed to try to prove that there is really one set of equations that apply to the macrocosm and the microcosm, alike. I say several sets of equations because it's true. At first, one set of equations was found that seemed to be the one. Upon further investigation, other flavors of these equations arose, bringing the question back to life as to whether there is one set of equations that constitute the "Theory of Everything."

While this is still in debate, there is one interesting point that applies to all the flavors of the mathematical formulas. That point is that mathematically, there is reason to believe that there are more dimensions than the three we perceive (four, if you count time as a dimension). Some of the sets of equations conclude that there are six dimensions and some say that there are eleven, and others say that there may be even more than eleven. However, they all indicate that there are more than we previously thought. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio...."

Assuming that there is a divine Creator is not such a difficult concept for us to grasp. More dimensions, on the other hand, are hard to conceive. There have been scientists who have proposed that there may even be parallel universes (plural) coexisting alongside our own. Within Quantum Mechanics, one analogy was that in the world of the infinitely small, it was theoretically proven that you could be somewhere before you got there. If the possibility is one you can grasp, then try grasping the following.

We are not these bags of bones we perceive, but much more. And we don't live bounded by these physical trappings we perceive, but move in and out of and through these dimensions without even knowing it. Imagine that you are sitting on your couch watching television. You feel hungry, but you don't want to miss the show. At that moment, as in every moment of choice, it is possible that you actually make and carry out all of the possible choices, simultaneously. The "you" which you are currently perceiving stays on the couch while the you in one of the other dimensions actually gets up and goes to the kitchen, while another you in another dimension gets up, but procrastinates about getting food and sits back down, while another you falls asleep, while another you.... What if every time you have a choice to make, you actually make them all? You are only aware of the choice you carried out in the particular dimension you are experiencing. Each you in each dimension has no knowledge of the choice made in the other dimensions. Each choice spawns another existence or existence path and they blossom like a flower with the petals constantly growing anew and have their own new path to travel. How many of you are there?

Let us just say you have a choice to make that has three possible choices. Each spawns a new you. In one dimension, the choice you made takes you to the kitchen. Then the choices of whether to go to the pantry or the refrigerator spawn another you. The you who goes to the pantry sees four possible food selections. As the choice is made, three more of you spring into existence. The possibilities are infinite, as they should be with an infinite Creator.

Then where does this lead us? The question of free will is now essentially overcome. I say "essentially" because still there is an all knowing God who knows all of the possible choices at each decision point, and He knows that you make all of the decisions you can possibly make, and He knows all of the decisions that each "you" that you have spawned will make. He has even already known how many of you will be spawned during your existence in each existence that you spawn, for He is all-powerful and all knowing. The concept is truly staggering, but is truly possible. In that realm of possibility, there is still predestination, and not only free will, but also the ultimate in the concept of free will. We make and experience all the choices possible. That is the ultimate freedom, to be able to experience it all. The predestination still exists because God knows the choices ahead of time, but the multiplicity of parallel universes and dimensions beyond our tiny conceptions allow for totally free will at each decision point. And these multiple existences are not only known by the Creator, but have been predestined to exist so that we can have the freedom to choose every choice. Therefore, the concept or theory is appropriately named, "The Theory of Divine Predestined Multiplicity."

Would you and your spouse create a child with the predetermined intent to limit what that child can be? Would you force your child to be exactly what you want him or her to be, not allowing the child to become his or her dream? We all tell our kids, "You can be anything you want to be." We want them to experience the things that they want to experience. I can't believe that our Creator would love us any less.

Over Population and Increasing Urban Populations - The VR Solution Considered By Lance Winslow

There are so many mega cities in the World and it is estimated that over the next few decades over 50-60% of the World's population will live in urban areas. Will these urban areas support that many humans? We are talking about five to six billion people. Ah ha, now I've got your attention I see.

Well, what about the virtual reality solution, where people live close together but each of the walls of their personal space is like a flat screen TV and they can project any image they wish, or any amount of infinite space? This VR environment has been proposed, and would be very good for concentrated areas.

It could also be used for living underground in times of let's say a 1,000 years of Earth Surface cataclysmic events that would not support life as we know it. It might be very good for space colonies, or long-term space travel.

It also lends itself well to allowing humans to live their fulfilled life to its natural end without procreating and increasing population on a planet slowly running out of resources. A large group or a small group of humans could isolate themselves to start another type of society or civilization based on some other format not currently used.

Many of these types of isolate groups could test the best possible type of society and civilization for humans, which could propel long-term species continuance. Whereas, a current system of government, society, and civilization might find itself ending of its own device or mistakes, so perhaps you might think about it.

Can Humans Live in Virtual Reality Off-Planet Colonies Without Going Stir Crazy? By Lance Winslow

The question has been posed by Science Fiction authors numerous times, but it is a very important question for the future of humanity. Consider if you will that in the future humans may live in Virtual Reality, VR environments in off world colonies, perhaps on moons, planets, traveling space ships or orbiting stations.

But can human beings live in long-term VR environments full-time without going stir crazy? After all the current life-experience often has us going stir-crazy as it is, and some people are bored out of their minds. If people are put into a colony, travel will be limited and so too will space, but people are adaptable, can they cope if we make it so, will they need a virtual avatar like friend?

Now there will be a few problems for humans at first, some will not be pre-conditioned to accept this, and they will say; "I Want Out!" and so, too with the virtual friend. But, this does not mean it will not gain acceptance for humans to "try it" or do a test run and then allow them to tell others about it, creating a trend.

It seems a test project is needed first to work the bugs out, and analyze the psychological issues of the transition. One could say that the present "life experience" is nothing more than a virtual world that humans perceive a certain way due to their 5-organic sensors, and that the world would be different if they had fewer or additional sensors, thus, the world already is in a sort of augmented reality as it sits, the way it is seen by humans. Please consider this.

Will Teachers Be Replaced by Technology? By Jeanette McLeod

In the last 15 years, the use of technology in schools has changed beyond recognition. From just one or two computers per school, to 'computer suites', to current day, where some schools provide access to technology across the whole school and to use it across all subjects. Will the future of education in the next 20 years be of student interacting with technology to drive their own learning? Will schools as we know them cease to exist? Will our technology hungry young learners no longer need teachers? Virtually every job we do today requires some kind of technology. Students need to be technologically adept, including information literacy, visual literacy, and technological literacy.

Schools are using materials developed decades ago, but today's students come to school with very different experiences than those of 20 years ago. And by the time they leave the world of education the real world will have moved on again. We should be teaching them about how to keep up. Schools need to adapt to current student needs and identify new learning methods that are engaging to younger generations and teach them to use technology wisely.

There are three ways to teach...tell someone, show someone or let them do it themselves. With developments in technology children can do it themselves earlier and much quicker. Our educational establishments need to be harnessing this new way to learn and using it for all it is worth. This puts an added requirement on today's teachers. A requirement to have the skills and capabilities to use technology to meet the needs of learners. They need to understand and be comfortable using the technology that is out there to engage young learners. And there is a plethora of options available from educational software, online games, eBooks for children, and educational websites.

A recent survey by the Pew Internet and American Life Project [*1] found that online game experience is extremely common among young people, requiring active participation and interaction, and signalled that current educational methods may not be engaging students enough. So are games the future of education? Perhaps. But whether you agree or not it does raise the issue whether education needs to be as engaging as computer games in order to engage young minds. And what does this mean for teachers? Will they be out of a job? No. Their role will still be to prepare children for their futures in the real world. Not by telling, but by mentoring and coaching. Technology can never replace a good teacher but it can make a good teacher better and a very good teacher absolutely brilliant in fulfilling their role of preparing children for the future world.

The Future is Totally Up in the Air By Quang Van

Anything is possible in the future as we know it. Technology is expanding at such a rapid pace that anything is possible in the future. Literally you can start an international business overnight with nothing more then a telephone and internet connection.

The "World Is Truly Flat", and things are moving at the speed of light. In the book "The World Is Flat" by Thomas Friedman, he talks about the international shipping company UPS. Most people think of UPS is just a shipping company, yet they do so much more then move boxes. They are a distribution hub for enterprises and other small businesses. They are actually at the center of operations in a lot of modern companies.

Meaning no longer does UPS just ship products and parts. They actually assemble the parts for their clients and ship the finish product to the consumer. They are truly "6 inches" apart from the consumer. They do this with great savings for their client.

In this new world nothing is what it seems. The people who controls these hubs and networks are kings. Google is another great example. People think that Google is a web company, existing primary online. When really Google is one of the biggest network, and hardware company out there. Google's infrastructure, it's vast array of computer farms, is what separates them from their competitors. It's why their company is so valuable, and not easily duplicated.

In this new "Technological Revolution", you have to think outside of the box. Never have you had so many resources at your disposal. You can outsource anything, and probably should. Like my brother tells me, the great companies of tomorrow are those that know what to outsource and what to do themselves.
